Body: Don’t move don’t ever move just lie here on your bed forever” —

It’s been awhile since I helped my uncle out with teaching the preschool kids art and craft (previous relatable entry here). This time, we’re actually one of the vendors aiding in a camp the preschool kids were attending: I Love SG Heritage. It’s definitely harder to manage than usual, there were 96 of them in total. Though they came in batches according to their schools: Sengkang, Jurong-West, One-north etc., it was still pretty overwhelming to handle. Nonetheless, it was a good day spent.

Here, an awkward picture of Teacher Irina for you hehehe.
All-time fave questions received: ”Teacher, why are you so tall?” and “Teacher, why are there metals in your mouth?” Haha, yeah your teacher is actually a descendant of giraffe and your teacher actually stores treasure in her mouth on her teeth. But shhhh…. don’t tell anyone else that hehe. It’s our secret.

This is Jeff, my cousin brother. It’s funny and offending at the same time how children can’t differentiate age so he was asked by one of the students, “Is she your mom?”
I turned and saw the bewildered Jeff, and casually said yes. There’s no point explaining since we’d have to start all the way from the issue of age gap to the misleading height of mine to Jeff’s incomplete puberty progress. Children always think the indicator of height is somewhat proportionate to the age, right. Didn’t you think so too? I bet you did haha.

So, at my work station, I handled the making of Henna Handkerchief.

Out of the 96 students, Ashley (above) caught my attention. When I handed her a pink handkerchief, she returned it me and said, “Blue please.” That caught me by surprise, wow first girl who asked for blue handkerchief and not because she mistook blue as purple, but she truly wanted blue. Impressive.
She then, went on talking about the love she had for her mom, and how her mom had been busy and they hadn’t been spending as much time together as before. She’s too sensible for age. Curious, I asked if she has any older sibling to influence her thinking and fasten the maturity process, she then said, “I’m the only child.”
She went on, asked for permission to have her mom’s name on the handkerchief. She wanted this to be a gift for her mom. None of the children thought out of the box, none of the children thought about doing something different, except her. Ashley, I admire how you’re already moulding yourself into an admirable character at such a young age. I wish you well in time to come :-)
It’s so inspiring to be inspired by young kids. We think they’ve so much to learn from us, which could be vice versa too.
Could you love someone who does whatever he wants to do, whenever I want to? it’s a simple question. I’m only asking ‘cause I don’t want to die alone

Finaaaaaaally, met up with Huisze yesterday. So glad for the catch up and time spent with her, and most importantly, this time we met somewhere other than in Yishun!! Usually because of all the other factors attributed to convenience, we lazily choose to meet in Yishun since it’s near both our place haha.
We went cafe-hunting yesterday…. literally because the first two cafes we got to, were closed!!!!!!!!! We didn’t check the opening hours and assumed they’d be opened on Monday but hey guess what, hipsters don’t work on Mondays haha.
We missed Wimbly Lu and Group Therapy. Luckily, Selfish Gene cafe was nearby and it’s opened on Monday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ambience wasn’t too bad. I kinda liked it there. I also liked that it wasn’t very crowded at the time we were there, so made it the whole experience even better; cosy and exclusive (somewhat).

The food! So so so so so much better than what I expected. I ordered scrambled egg with brioche, it’s amazing. The scrambled egg, how can it be so good?! I’m definitely going back for more ^^

So qutie this galgal.

After Selfish Gene, we decided to hop over to The Plain, another cafe just down the same stretch of shophouses. We wanted to see how the cafe’s like, plus some desserts after meal won’t kill. Omnomnom.

Didn’t manage to capture the place as a whole, but I absolutely love the people working there. They’re all so friendly and nice. It’s very welcoming and doesn’t feel intimidating at all. The Plain, you guys hired the right staff!!!! Good job hehehe.
The scone was really good. I’m not a very scone person but according to Huisze, who tried countless scone and was disappointed, was impressed by this one hehe. The brownie’s not too bad either.

Left The Plain and here’s some other photos when we were walking to mrt.

THANK YOU HOHO FOR THE GOOD DAY!
OK THAT’S ALL!!!!! BYE!!!!!
WISH YOU AN AMAZING TUESDAY AHEAD HEHEHEHE.
